An entrepreneur identified by the initials RN has been reported to the Regional Police of Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) over the suspected embezzlement of 90 cattle. The cattle belonged to Ruben Otemusu (42) in Oebola Village, Fatuleu District, Kupang Regency, NTT.

‘We have reported the embezzlement case to SPKT of the NTT Regional Police because 90 cattle owned by our client are suspected to have been embezzled by the suspect,’ Ruben’s attorney, Stodi Efendi Nabuasa, told the NTT Regional Police on Wednesday (4 March 2026).

Stodi explained that the case occurred in May 2025. At that time, RN took dozens of cattle to be sold in Kalimantan under an agreement that payment would be made only after returning. However, after the cattle were sold for roughly Rp600 million more, RN disappeared. Ruben tried repeatedly to demand payment, but was unsuccessful. Eventually, Ruben’s contact number was blocked by RN.

‘So the agreement was that payment would be given after the sale, but up to now there has been no payment at all, so we reported it because he has repeatedly dodged the request for payment,’ Stodi said.

According to Stodi, as a result of the case, Ruben has had difficulty financing his family’s needs and his two children’s education costs because his cattle were sold. ‘The victim was forced to take out loans to cover living costs for his family for now. This is very worrying,’ Stodi added.
