Kuntadi Appointed Jampidsus, Yusril: His Task Is to Resolve the Febrie Adriansyah Case

President Prabowo Subianto has appointed Kuntadi as the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), replacing Febrie Adriansyah, who is now a corruption suspect. Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Corrections Yusril Ihza Mahendra assessed that Prabowo made the right decision in appointing Kuntadi to the Jampidsus post. “Oh, Mr Kuntadi, yes? Well, if the President has agreed, it means the President has carefully considered that he is the right person to hold the position of Jampidsus,” Yusril said at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Wednesday (22/7/2026). Yusril understands the public’s desire for Febrie’s corruption case to be handled thoroughly. Therefore, Yusril hopes the Attorney General’s Office will work according to its proper course. “And he certainly knows that the main task of the Jampidsus now is to resolve the case of Mr Febrie, who is also a former Jampidsus. And we hope the Attorney General’s Office will work on track in accordance with our expectations so that the law is enforced fairly and there is legal certainty,” Yusril stated. Prabowo has signed a Presidential Decree regarding the new Jampidsus, replacing Febrie Adriansyah, who has been named a suspect. “Regarding the presidential decree in accordance with the proposal from the Attorney General concerning officials within the Attorney General’s Office, we can inform you that yesterday the President signed the decree based on the assessment of the Final Assessment Team, referring to the proposal letter from the Attorney General,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace complex. Pras said his office handed over the excerpt of the presidential decree appointing the new Jampidsus to the Attorney General’s Office on Wednesday (22/7). “We will then follow up administratively today so that the excerpt of the decree will be sent to the relevant agency, in this case the Attorney General’s Office,” he said.
