Kuntadi Appointed as New Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes

The Presidential Palace has officially announced the appointment of Dr. Kuntadi as the new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General’s Office. Kuntadi replaces Febrie Adriansyah, who stepped down from the strategic post. The appointment is viewed as a step to strengthen the Adhyaksa Corps, given Kuntadi’s extensive background within Jampidsus. He was widely known during his tenure as the Director of Investigation at Jampidsus from 2022 to 2024, where he handled various major corruption cases involving staggering state losses.

Born in Semarang, Central Java, on 4 January 1970, Kuntadi holds a Doctorate in Law from Jenderal Soedirman University. He began his career at the Attorney General’s Office as a civil servant candidate in 1996, with his initial placement as an administrative staff member within Jampidsus. Over nearly three decades of service, Kuntadi has held various important positions at both the central and regional levels, having led three different High Prosecutor’s Offices (Kejati) before being recalled to Jakarta.

In recognition of his dedication, Kuntadi received a state honour from President Prabowo Subianto in January 2026. The award was given for his success in optimising state asset recovery, particularly the utilisation of confiscated land to support the National Food Self-Sufficiency Programme through the ‘Jaksa Mandiri Pangan’ initiative. As Jampidsus, Kuntadi bears significant responsibility for leading directorates focused on cases with substantial state losses. With his experience leading three different High Prosecutor’s Offices and holding strategic central positions, Kuntadi is expected to continue strengthening law enforcement within the Attorney General’s Office, especially in resolving ongoing major corruption cases.
