Kunming (ANTARA) - The passenger flight route connecting Jakarta with Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province in southwest China, has resumed regular operations. On 12 March at 19.15 local time, flight 8L833 operated by Lucky Air took off from Kunming Changshui International Airport with full passenger capacity bound for Jakarta, marking the restart of the Kunming-Jakarta international route. “We plan to take a family trip to Southeast Asia, and the resumption of the Jakarta route gives us more options,” said a passenger surnamed Liu. After resuming operations, the route is scheduled to serve four round-trip flights each week, with a flight duration of around four hours. This service provides convenient connectivity between Kunming, known as the “City of Eternal Spring”, and Jakarta as a tropical metropolis, facilitating cross-border travel. Airport authorities stated that various preparations had been made beforehand to ensure smooth operations and enhance the travel experience for passengers. As the international route network of Kunming Changshui International Airport continues to develop, the airport currently operates 48 international routes connecting 18 countries, forming an increasingly efficient “air bridge” network. The resumption of this route is expected to further enhance people-to-people exchanges and economic cooperation between China and Indonesia.
