KUNINGAN — A student at SMPN 1 Japara in Kuningan Regency has suffered health problems after being sprayed with floor-cleaning liquid. The student is now receiving treatment at Linggajati Regional General Hospital (RSUD Linggajati).

Kuningan Regent Dian Rachmat Yanuar visited the student at the hospital on Tuesday (13 October 2026). During the visit, he checked on the student’s condition and called for a careful follow-up to an incident that had been linked to suspected bullying.

Dian said the student’s condition was improving. He hoped the student would make a full recovery soon and return to normal school activities.

“Thankfully, the student is getting better and is confirmed to be safe. Hopefully, tomorrow they can resume their usual activities,” Dian said.

As well as checking on the student’s health, Dian asked them directly about the sequence of events. From their conversation, the incident appears to have begun as a joke between students before leading to the spraying of floor-cleaning liquid.

The student said the liquid hit the face, including the mouth and eyes. They also said that another student was sprayed as well.

After the incident, the student experienced nausea and vomiting and was given assistance at school before being taken to hospital for medical treatment. Dian said that, according to what he was told during his visit, the spray was not directed specifically at the student but at several people, and happened to hit the victim.

Nevertheless, Dian stressed that the incident must be taken seriously and followed up to ensure it does not happen again. “I have tasked the Head of the Education Office with providing guidance and going directly to the site,” he said.
