Kuningan Government's Strategy to Reduce Unemployment

AROUND 5,000 job vacancies were prepared for the Kuningan Job Fair 2026. The Kuningan Regency Government is working to reduce the unemployment rate in its region.
The Kuningan Job Fair 2026 was held at the Ewangga Sports Arena (GOR) on Wednesday (15/7). Some 40 companies from Kuningan, Brebes, Cirebon, Majalengka and as far as Jabodetabek took part, providing around 5,000 job vacancies for jobseekers.
“The organisation of this job fair is a form of the government’s presence in answering the needs of the community, especially the younger generation who are looking for work,” said the Regent of Kuningan, Dian Rachmat Yanuar, on Wednesday (15/7).
The job fair in Kuningan Regency provides space and the widest possible opportunity for jobseekers to meet directly with the business world.
He revealed that the Kuningan Regency Government is working to reduce the open unemployment rate, among other things by targeting the organisation of job fairs more than once a year. The aim is for more people to obtain employment opportunities that match their competencies.
In addition, he continued, new investment will enter Kuningan Regency. Following the ratification of the RTRW (spatial plan), a company from South Korea plans to build a factory in Kuningan. With an investment value of around Rp1.3 trillion, the investment is projected to absorb up to 10,000 workers.
Beyond encouraging people to find employment, Dian invited the younger generation to begin building a mindset of becoming job creators through entrepreneurship.
“Success is not always about being a jobseeker, but also about how we are able to become creators of job opportunities. The training prepared by the government must be used to build self-reliance,” said Dian.
He urged the companies participating in the job fair to provide equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in accordance with the needs and characteristics of the available work.
CAREER CONSULTATION
Meanwhile, the Head of the Kuningan Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office, Toto Toharudin, explained that the Kuningan Job Fair 2026 not only presents thousands of job vacancies, but also career consultation services, information on working abroad, and apprenticeship programmes.
In addition, the Manpower and Transmigration Office has prepared competency-based training programmes for 1,200 participants through 70 training packages supported by the Ministry of Manpower. Participants will receive certificates, daily meal allowances, uniforms, meals, and even capital assistance after completing the training.
Not only that, this year there is also a scholarship programme for 50 participants who will be prepared to work legally in Japan.
Through this series of programmes, the Kuningan Regency Government hopes that more people will be absorbed into the workforce, the unemployment rate will continue to decline, and community welfare will keep improving.
