Approximately 5,000 job vacancies were made available at the Kuningan Job Fair 2026. The Kuningan Regency government is striving to reduce the unemployment rate in their region. The Kuningan Job Fair 2026 was held at the Ewangga Sports Hall on Wednesday (15/7). A total of 40 companies from Kuningan, Brebes, Cirebon, Majalengka, and the Greater Jakarta area participated, providing around 5,000 job vacancies for job seekers. “Organising a job fair is a form of government presence in responding to the needs of the community, especially the younger generation who are looking for work,” said Kuningan Regent Dian Rachmat Yanuar on Wednesday (15/7). The job fair in Kuningan Regency provides the widest possible space and opportunity for job seekers to meet directly with the business world. He revealed that the Kuningan Regency Government is trying to reduce the open unemployment rate, including by targeting to hold job fairs more than once a year. The aim is for more people to obtain job opportunities according to their competencies. In addition, he said, new investment will enter Kuningan Regency. Following the stipulation of the Regional Spatial Plan, a South Korean company plans to build a factory in Kuningan. With an investment value of around Rp1.3 trillion, the investment is projected to absorb up to 10,000 workers. Besides encouraging people to get jobs, Dian invited the younger generation to start building a mindset as job creators through entrepreneurship. “Success is not always about being a job seeker, but also about how we can become job providers. The training prepared by the government must be utilised to build independence,” Dian said. He invited companies participating in the job fair to provide equal opportunities for people with disabilities according to the needs and characteristics of the available jobs. Meanwhile, Head of the Kuningan Regency Manpower and Transmigration Office, Toto Toharudin, explained that the Kuningan Job Fair 2026 not only presented thousands of job vacancies but also career consultation services, information on working abroad, and apprenticeship programmes. In addition, the Manpower Office prepared competency-based training programmes for 1,200 participants through 70 training packages supported by the Ministry of Manpower. Participants will receive certificates, daily meal allowances, uniforms, consumption, and business capital assistance after completing the training. This year, a scholarship programme is also available for 50 participants who will be prepared to work legally in Japan. Through this series of programmes, the Kuningan Regency Government hopes that more people will be absorbed into the workforce, the unemployment rate will continue to decline, and community welfare will increase.
