Kulon Progo Residents Stunned by Mini Pocong Doll Package Delivery

Residents in Padukuhan Bangeran, Kalurahan Bumirejo, Kapanewon Lendah, Kulon Progo, were startled by a package containing a pair of mini pocong dolls. Resident Sujarwo said his wife screamed in surprise upon opening the package. ‘No one ordered it, and we didn’t send any package. Suddenly, a courier arrived around 9:30 AM WIB delivering a prepaid package,’ Sujarwo told journalists on Tuesday (26 May 2026). ‘When my wife opened it, there were two mini pocong dolls inside. She was so shocked she screamed,’ he added. Sujarwo said the package was sent from Pacitan, East Java, with no sender’s identification, only the recipient’s address and name. However, inside the package was a note stating the items were toys. ‘We sell small pocong toys for horror-themed room decorations. There is absolutely no supernatural or mystical element. If you did not purchase this item or it was a prank from a friend, burn it. Do not use it for any illegal negative purposes,’ the note read. Sujarwo added that he did not report the incident to the police, but his home was visited by locals and officers from Polsek Lendah. In front of the crowd and police, he decided to burn the items. ‘I didn’t report it, but when they opened it, officers from Polsek Lendah were present. If another similar package arrives tomorrow, I’ll report it. I burned it because I was worried about scaring people,’ he said. Separately, Kulon Progo Police Public Relations Chief Iptu Sarjoko confirmed police had visited the scene, stating the recipient had not yet filed a formal report. ‘Officers visited the scene. The package did contain pocong items. The recipient has not yet filed a report,’ Sarjoko said. Sarjoko urged the public not to worry excessively about the package delivery.
