Kudus district reports 12 KDMP building sites completed
As many as 12 locations for the construction of Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) buildings in 12 villages in Kudus district, Central Java, have been completed and are now awaiting the installation of equipment and supplies to commence business operations.
“Out of 80 locations for KDMP building construction, to date 12 locations have been completed at 100 per cent,” said Famny Dwi Arfana, head of the Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMD) of Kudus district, in Kudus on Saturday.
The twelve completed construction sites include those in Papringan, Besito, Getaspejaten, Ngembalrejo, Puyoh, Kutuk, Samirejo, Gondosari, Blimbing Kidul and Pasuruhan Lor villages.
Following completion of the buildings, Arfana said that the installation of furniture and other items to operate the cooperative business will also be handled by Agrinas Pangan Nusantara, which previously undertook the physical construction of the buildings.
Meanwhile, Lilik Ngesti Widiasuryani, chairwoman of the Tanjungrejo village cooperative in Kudus, revealed that the KDMP building in her village is still under construction.
“According to information we have received, once the building is completed, PT Agrinas will be tasked with supplying all furniture, equipment and merchandise, including operational vehicles,” she said.
She acknowledged that preparations have been made for business operations upon completion, ranging from the sale of basic necessities to residents, health clinics, and the provision of subsidised fertiliser.
Regarding membership, she acknowledged that nearly 200 residents have joined, including civil servants, following regular outreach and promotion activities conducted at village meetings and neighbourhood association (RT) level.
In fact, she said, residents have been willing to pay membership fees for the cooperative despite operations not yet commencing.
“We have also held one general members’ meeting, which has generated considerable interest among residents in joining the village cooperative,” she said.
