Kudos to Merpati

I would like to acknowledge the good service of Merpati Airlines in Bandar Lampung.

This service was extended to my guest when we were traveling from Lampung to Jakarta on flight number 205 on March 26, which was scheduled to leave at 5 p.m.

We were informed via cellular phone of a delay of three hours, which meant that my guest would miss his Denpasar connection on Lion Air in Jakarta, which was leaving at 8:15 p.m. that same night.

We conveyed this to the staff of Merpati Airlines at the Bandar Lampung airport. A young lady in the Merpati airport office set about seeing how she could help us. She tried all possibilities and finally told us that she needed to wait for her manager, who would come at 6 p.m., before she could take further action.

Eventually, a fresh ticket to Denpasar for early in the morning the next day on a Merpati flight was issued and given to my guest at no cost, even though the Lion Air ticket was non- refundable/transferable.

We appreciate the Merpati Airlines manager's courtesy and the young woman's perseverance in helping my guest; her efforts are certainly to be commended.
