Kuantan Singingi Regent Accompanies Riau Governor on Working Visit to Investment Ministry
Jakarta — Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Dr H. Suhardiman Amby accompanied Riau Governor Abdul Wahid on a working visit to the Ministry of Investment and Downstreaming/Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) in Jakarta on Monday (5/5).
The visit formed part of the Riau Provincial Government's strategic agenda to strengthen synergy between central and regional governments, particularly in investment development and industrial downstreaming across the Riau region.
All regents and mayors throughout Riau Province attended the meeting, demonstrating collective commitment to accelerating economic growth through the investment sector. The meeting also served as a strategic forum for regional leaders to present their respective areas' key potential, whilst discussing challenges and opportunities in implementing downstreaming policies at the regional level.
Investment Minister/BKPM Head Rosan Perkasa Roeslani attended in person and expressed appreciation for the initiative and enthusiasm of regional leaders in Riau in strengthening communication with the central government to build an inclusive and sustainable investment ecosystem.
In his address, Riau Governor Abdul Wahid emphasised the importance of regulatory support and incentives from the central government for regions serious about developing sustainable natural resource downstreaming.
On the same occasion, Kuansing Regent Dr Suhardiman Amby presented the strategic potential of Kuantan Singingi Regency, particularly in the palm oil plantation sector. He expressed hope that the visit would open investment opportunities and secure ministerial support for priority development projects in the region.
"We want to ensure that Kuansing does not merely remain a crude palm oil (CPO) producing area, but also becomes a CPO product downstreaming region that can provide added economic value for the community," the Regent said.
The visit is expected to serve as a concrete step towards driving regional economic transformation through quality and sustainable investment.
