Kuansing Regent's Rp 2 Billion Wealth: Two Bribe Cars Not Recorded in LHKPN

Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby has been named a suspect in a bribery case by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). He is recorded as having assets worth Rp 2 billion. Based on the State Administrators’ Wealth Report (LHKPN) website on Wednesday (1/7/2026), Suhardiman last reported his wealth in 2025, with a total value of Rp 2.01 billion. Suhardiman reported ownership of three land and building assets valued at Rp 1.18 billion. He also reported three cars with a total value of Rp 590 million. However, the three reported cars did not include the Land Cruiser and Pajero Sport he allegedly received as bribes. Both vehicles are known to be worth billions of rupiah. Suhardiman also reported cash and cash equivalents of Rp 240 million and had no recorded debts.

Regarding the bribery case, the KPK stated that Suhardiman received a Land Cruiser from Zulkarnain in connection with the selection of the Regional Secretary. In addition to the Land Cruiser, Suhardiman allegedly received a bribe in the form of a Pajero Sport while serving as Acting Regent of Kuansing in 2021. “This is not the first time ZKN (Zulkarnain) has done this. When he was serving as agency head, he also gave something to SA when he was still Acting Regent,” said Plt Director of Investigation of the KPK Achmad Taufik Husein during a press conference at the KPK building on Wednesday (1/7). Suhardiman became Acting Regent of Kuansing after the previous regent, Andi Putra, was arrested by the KPK for a corruption case. Suhardiman was later re-elected and inaugurated as Regent of Kuansing in 2025. Achmad Taufik stated that Zulkarnain had previously purchased a Pajero Sport worth Rp 700 million on credit to secure the position of Head of the Kuansing Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency. The purchase was facilitated by a private party, Ardiles, the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant. The KPK suspects Ardiles received 13 projects at the Public Works Agency for helping Zulkarnain purchase the Pajero Sport to bribe Suhardiman. The total value of the projects obtained by Ardiles was Rp 1.2 billion in 2022. “ARD again became the winner of several projects at agencies and the Kuansing regional secretariat in 2025 and 2026 with a value of more than Rp 966 million,” he said. Zulkarnain is now suspected of again bribing Suhardiman with a Land Cruiser to secure his selection as Regional Secretary of Kuansing. The Land Cruiser, valued at Rp 2.05 billion, was purchased on credit with the help of Ardiles. Suhardiman, Zulkarnain, and Ardiles have been named suspects by the KPK. “Paying in instalments with this tenor was also intended by ZKN to lock in his position so that it would be safe during the regent’s term of office, hence the credit was set for a 5-year tenor,” he said.
