Entering the Lebaran holiday travel period, PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi has confirmed operational readiness at Kualanamu International Airport. The preparations include opening a dedicated Lebaran transport post for 18 days, beginning today, Friday, 13 March 2026, aimed at ensuring airport operations run safely, orderly, and smoothly during the outbound and return migration periods.

During this period, passenger traffic is projected to increase significantly. Between 13 and 30 March 2026, the number of arriving and departing passengers is estimated to reach 443,036 persons, with a total of 3,009 aircraft movements.

“In anticipation of the increased traffic, we have recorded 151 additional flights from various airlines, predominantly serving routes to and from Jakarta and Palembang,” said Dedy Sri Cahyono, Acting Director of Operation and Services at PT Angkasa Pura Aviasi, following the opening ceremony of the Lebaran transport post at Kualanamu Airport on Friday, 13 March 2026.

Dedy stated that through the integrated post, Angkasa Pura coordinates with all stakeholders, including airlines, AirNav Indonesia, airport authorities, the military and police, and other relevant agencies, to enable rapid and effective anticipation of any operational disruptions.

From an operational standpoint, 439 aviation security personnel, 61 airport rescue and firefighting staff, and 1,237 ground handling workers have been deployed to support smooth operations. To facilitate passenger connectivity to and from the airport, ground transport has been arranged comprising 60 buses, 70 taxis, 175 ride-hailing vehicles, and airport rail service with 24 daily trips.

To strengthen safety and security through Ramp Safety Campaign and Terminal Safety Campaign initiatives, all facilities and infrastructure have been inspected. As part of enhanced service quality during Ramadan and Lebaran, additional programmes have been implemented including the distribution of breaking-fast meals and thematic decorations in the terminal area.

“With all these preparations in place, we are committed to supporting smooth public mobility and ensuring aviation services operate to the highest standards of safety, security, and service,” concluded Dedy.
