KUA-PPAS amendment agreed, Bobby calls for accelerated development

North Sumatra Governor Bobby Nasution has called for the acceleration of physical and non-physical development after the provincial government and the Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) agreed on the KUA-PPAS amendment to the 2026 North Sumatra provincial budget.

Speaking after attending a DPRD plenary session on Friday, Bobby said: “What we also need to accelerate today is physical implementation. Why? Because we do not want any obstacles later as we approach the end of the year.”

The plenary session included the signing of a memorandum of agreement between the North Sumatra Provincial Government and the DPRD on the General Budget Policy and Provisional Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) amendment to the 2026 provincial budget.

Bobby stressed the importance of accelerating physical development across all regions, given that the implementation period is drawing closer to the end of the year. He said the development realisation figures across all regions under the provincial government would be an important record as the year draws to a close.

He added that development acceleration is also being pursued through direct inspections of various areas in North Sumatra. Together with Deputy Governor Surya and provincial government officials, Bobby is currently inspecting the Nias Islands to ensure development programmes are running effectively.

Beyond the Nias Islands, Bobby also plans to work from several other regions, including southern Tapanuli, the east coast, and the highlands, to ensure development programmes are being implemented according to target.

“What is certain is that we are planning, before the end of this year, to work from other regions as well,” he said.

“We hope that the KUA-PPAS agreement between the executive and the legislature will be followed promptly by deliberation on the draft regional regulation on the amended 2026 North Sumatra provincial budget,” said Erni.
