Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Committee on the Responsibility of Digital Platform Companies to Support Quality Journalism (KTP2JB) and the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) have collaborated to strengthen oversight of digital platform companies in carrying out their duties.

“We hope that the signing of this cooperation today, which is intended to enhance synergy between KPPU and the Digital Platform Company Responsibility Committee, will improve the oversight of digital platform companies in fulfilling their obligations as stipulated in Presidential Regulation No. 32 of 2024,” said KTP2JB Chair Suprapto Sastro Atmojo at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He also said that any digital platform failing to meet its responsibilities would be followed up by KPPU.

On the same occasion, KPPU Chair Gopprera Panggabean said the collaboration serves as an important foundation for innovation to continue developing within the legal corridor of healthy business competition, in the public interest.

The collaboration is also expected to support responsible policy implementation, effective oversight, and greater legal certainty for stakeholders.

KPPU, he added, believes that the success of the digital economy is measured not only by the size of investment or the value of transactions, but also by the ability to keep the market open to innovation and healthy competition.

“We hope this cooperation will be a concrete step towards digital economic governance in Indonesia that is increasingly fair, competitive, innovative, and full of integrity,” Gopprera concluded.
