President of the All-Indonesia Workers’ Confederation (KSPSI), Andi Gani Nena Wea, has expressed appreciation for the results of the 2026 Kompas Research and Development survey, which showed an increase in public trust in the Indonesian National Police (Polri). He described the rise as very encouraging. “This is very positive for Polri. He urged that this achievement be maintained through humanist service and good communication with the public. He also praised the Police Chief’s work programmes, which he said prioritised workers. “Humanist service and communication with the public have been demonstrated by Polri. The Police Chief’s employment programme is extraordinary and has received international recognition,” Andi Gani stated. The President of the Southeast Asian Workers’ Organisation also highlighted the synergy between the police and labour groups, citing the example of a complaint from teachers that was resolved quickly and on time. “A complaint from teachers was resolved quickly and on time, and that is truly remarkable. This shows the synergy between the police and workers,” he said. Andi Gani expressed his hope that Polri would continue to be an institution loved by the public, become increasingly humanist, and remain a source of national pride. “As president and also president of Southeast Asian workers, I hope Polri remains precise. May Polri always be an institution loved by the public, a humanist police force, and a source of pride for the community. Thank you, Polri. Precise,” he concluded. The Kompas Research and Development survey was conducted from 9 to 18 April 2026, with results reviewed on Friday. The method involved face-to-face interviews with 1,200 respondents.
