KSPSI and KSBSI reaffirm support for all of President Prabowo's programmes

Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Confederation of All Indonesian Labour Unions KSPSI and the Confederation of All Indonesian Labour Unions KSBSI have reiterated their support for all programmes being implemented by President Prabowo Subianto. KSPSI President Andi Gani Nena Wea is confident that the Head of State sides with the labour unions. The statement of support was delivered by Andi after a meeting with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/3). ‘So we, KSPSI, KSBSI and also together with KSPI Said Iqbal, express full support for President Prabowo Subianto to remain steadfast in implementing all pro-people programmes,’ Andi said. He assessed that President Prabowo has a very strong pro-labour orientation, because for the first time in the history of the labour movement, only Prabowo is willing to attend May Day. ‘And also many media friends do not know that the President often communicates informally with us and is very open and egalitarian,’ he said. Furthermore, he noted that President Prabowo is always responsive when addressing complaints from workers across the country. Therefore, he assured KSPSI is committed to continue safeguarding the Prabowo administration. ‘So we can speak openly and publicly that many in the public do not know that we have direct communication on issues and he responds sincerely, quickly and with full attention to Indonesian workers,’ he said. ‘There are many things we are asking from the government regarding laws, regarding the reactivation of the PBI (Penerima Bantuan Iuran) as well, and this is what we are proud of in him, that he indeed makes time for us,’ Elly said.
