KSP Unveils Trump-Formed Board of Peace Plan That Could Draw Indonesia to Join
JAKARTA — Senior Expert to the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Ulta Levenia, outlined 20 points of the Gaza peace plan drafted by the Board of Peace (BoP), the Peace Council formed by United States President Donald Trump. Ulta said the plan forms the basis for Indonesia’s willingness to join the BoP.
‘In assessing something, analysing it and rendering judgement, we must be truly objective. Be careful to view from all sides and read in detail what we are analysing,’ Ulta said in a statement on Sunday, 8 March 2026.
Ulta rejected the suggestion that the BoP does not advocate Palestinian interests.
Then, at point 16, it is stated that Gaza will not be controlled by Israel. In fact, Ulta said, Israel is pressed to withdraw from Gaza. ‘This shows the balance of point 16. It is emphasised here that Israel is pressed not to occupy or annex Gaza. It has already been explained here that Israel and all its interests must leave Gaza,’ he said.
Next, at points 19 and 20, BoP says that Palestine will be encouraged to determine its own future and to build a state independently. ‘So there is a path for them to determine their own future and build their own state. The PA will be the representative of Gaza’s aspirations,’ he added.
Further, based on point 20, the US would push for a dialogue between Israel and Palestine. Ulta said that, in doing so, the two states would be encouraged to live side by side peacefully. ‘In essence, point 20 states that the United States will build a dialogue between Israel and Palestine to create a political environment—an ecosystem for peaceful coexistence. That is the core of the two-state solution,’ Ulta said.
Moreover, Ulta explained that in the BoP plan, Hamas fighters released would not be subject to punishment, as stated in point 6. ‘When prisoners are released on both sides, Hamas members who are willing to live in peace will be granted amnesty. So they will not be punished,’ he emphasised.
Meanwhile, Ulta noted that protections for Gaza residents are also included in point 12. ‘So BoP must be separated from the current conflict (the US–Israel–Iran dynamic) because we hope these 20 points of the Gaza peace plan can be implemented. Palestinian independence must be achieved. They are our brothers (Palestine) and we have from the start been truly committed to ending oppression in the world,’ she added.
