KSP Ungkap 5 WNI Ditangkap Israel, 4 Lainnya Lolos Dalam Kondisi Rawan

The Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Chief General (Ret) Dudung Abdurachman said the Indonesian government is engaging with local authorities to secure access for the repatriation of nine Indonesian nationals who joined the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) bound for Gaza, Palestine. He noted that five Indonesian nationals have been detained by the Israeli military and four others remain on different vessels in the eastern Mediterranean. “The situation on the ground is still very dynamic; the four Indonesian nationals who are still at sea remain in a precarious condition,” Dudung said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The Head of the Presidential Staff Office explained that the Indonesian Foreign Ministry (Kemlu) has carried out initial coordination with the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Turkey, Egypt, Italy, and Jordan as precautionary measures for issuing a Passport in Lieu of Travel Document (SPLP) if passports are seized, and for medical support if needed. “Next, the Indonesian representatives have also engaged with local authorities to ensure transit access and that the repatriation process for Indonesian citizens can proceed without immigration obstacles,” Dudung added. The Indonesian government has also joined nine other countries — Turkey, Bangladesh, Brazil, Colombia, Jordan, Libya, the Maldives, Pakistan, and Spain — in a joint statement condemning Israel’s attack on the GSF. He confirmed that Indonesian representatives remain on standby to promptly follow up on notifications and coordinate with local authorities. Previously, Israeli forces were reported to have intercepted at least 40 of the 54 ships taking part in the GSF humanitarian convoy as of Tuesday, 19 May 2026. The Indonesian Foreign Ministry confirmed today that five Indonesian nationals were detained by Israeli forces who raided the ships in the humanitarian convoy. (Ant)
