KSP to Attend and Absorb Workers' Aspirations on Labour Day 2026

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman stated that he will attend to directly observe and listen to the aspirations of workers at the peak of Labour Day 2026.

“Of course, I will also be present, and I will see and hear the aspirations from the workers,” Dudung said when met in Jakarta on Thursday.

Dudung also conveyed that the workers’ aspirations will be heard and responded to by President Prabowo Subianto. He hopes that the peak of Labour Day 2026 will proceed in a conducive, safe, and smooth manner.

“I am confident that the President will respond to what will be conveyed. I am confident that the Indonesian people uphold morality, uphold unity and integrity, and uphold the noble values of the nation,” Dudung said.

President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the peak of the 2026 National Labour Day commemoration, which will be held at the National Monument (Monas) in Jakarta on Friday (1/5).

Head of the Indonesian Government Communication Agency (Bakom) RI Muhammad Qodari stated that the President’s presence is part of the government’s commitment to ensure that the voices of workers are not only heard but also addressed through real policies.

He emphasised that the government’s position is not against workers, but stands together with them. The state, he said, is present as a protector of workers as well as a guardian of job sustainability.

Qodari said that workers’ welfare and business health are not conflicting matters, but two sides of the same goal.

According to him, a healthy business world is considered important to maintain job continuity and wage payments.

“If the business world is not healthy, it can’t pay salaries. And vice versa,” Qodari said.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Ministry of Manpower Cris Kuntadi said that this year’s International Labour Day or May Day commemoration carries the theme “Collaboration Together to Realise Industrial Progress and Workers’ Welfare”.

“And the tagline, one determination, one goal, prosperous together,” he said.
