KSP Reviews Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory, Ensures Maximal Service Quality
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office, General TNI (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, ensured that facilities and service quality are running maximally during his direct inspection of the Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory in East Jakarta on Thursday (7/5).
According to information received on Friday, the inspection was conducted to evaluate the management of Hajj pilgrim services from arrival to departure plans.
He confirmed that the quality of Hajj facilities and services this year, including accommodation, health, and meals, have been running very maximally.
“Well, right now I see that from the Nusuk process onwards it has been handed over here, and the services here are also maximally provided, both health and the beds, this dormitory is already very good,” said Dudung.
Based on his experience as Amirul Hajj in 2024, Dudung highlighted various rapid advancements in Hajj governance this year. One major improvement is the distribution of Nusuk cards and kloter arrangements, which are now completed in Indonesia, not in the holy land.
“This policy effectively prevents past problems, such as pilgrims being separated from their family members in hotels,” he said.
In his directions to the pilgrims, Dudung specifically urged prospective Hajj pilgrims to maintain their health and focus on the devotion of the Hajj pilgrimage.
He highlighted many cases of pilgrims dying due to extreme fatigue from performing too many proxy Umrahs (performing Umrah on behalf of relatives) repeatedly, as well as too much tourism or shopping.
“Don’t take on too many commissions from relatives, like proxy Umrahs and so on, which ultimately makes us not focused on ourselves,” Dudung advised, while reminding that many souvenir items in the holy land can actually be found domestically.
Through system improvements and pilgrim discipline in maintaining health, he said, the government targets a further decline in pilgrim mortality rates this year.
To date, the departure process for prospective Hajj pilgrims continues in stages. Concluding his inspection, Presidential Staff Head Dudung Abdurachman conveyed a message and prayers from President Prabowo Subianto to all pilgrims.
“As the Head of the Presidential Staff Office, I certainly represent the President in praying that the prospective Hajj pilgrims be granted strength and health in performing the Hajj pilgrimage, that it runs smoothly, safely, healthily, and God willing, they return to the homeland safely,” he stated.
