KSP Highlights Technocracy Challenges in Prabowo Subianto's Government
Jakarta - The Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Muhammad Qodari, has highlighted the challenges of technocracy in President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
“Indeed, the challenge in Pak Prabowo’s government now, if we talk about products, is the challenge of technocracy,” said Qodari during a meeting with Commission XIII of the DPR RI in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).
“How can we anticipate problems from the start, then make good planning, and solve the technical problems faced in the field. So the challenge is technocracy,” Qodari continued.
Andreas also suggested that the government seek out technocrats capable of implementing government programmes.
“This is actually from the beginning, I think the head should just talk with the president. If our problem is technocracy, find technocrats who are capable of carrying out those programmes,” said Andreas.
He then gave an example of the situation in Flores, Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT), particularly regarding geothermal policy.
According to him, the residents there are divided in their views on the policy because the explanation was not delivered by technocrats who are experts in the field.
“Many people talking about this geothermal don’t understand what it is. So in the end, they just reject it, some just reject it, leading to unproductive pro and contra debates,” said Andreas.
Therefore, he hopes that the KSP can accommodate this technocracy challenge.
He also hopes that the KSP can become the eyes and ears of President Prabowo to address issues related to government programmes in the field.
“The eyes and ears of the president that can serve as a bridge to overcome bottlenecks as mentioned earlier,” he said.
