KSP: Free Nutritious Meals Programme Reaches 61 Million Recipients, Supported by 24,443 SPPG
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Muhammad Qodari has unveiled the latest developments on the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme. To date, according to Qodari, MBG has reached 61,239,037 beneficiaries, comprising schoolchildren, toddlers, pregnant women, and nursing mothers, said Qodari at a press conference at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Wednesday (4 March 2026).
A total of 32,869 Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI) has also been tasked with ensuring operations run in accordance with standards. “This programme is supported by 24,443 Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) operating in various regions,” he said.
Meanwhile, the number of SPPG will be increased to 32,000 units to widen coverage. At the occasion, Qodari also said that 8,700 SPPG already hold the Sertifikat Laik Higiene Sanitasi (SLHS). “Eight thousand seven hundred SPPG have the Sertifikat Laik Higiene Sanitasi,” he noted.
In addition, MBG involves many stakeholders, including tens of thousands of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Qodari said the programme not only improves nutrition but also stimulates the rural economy. Each MBG implementation is strengthened through quality control and governance. “The programme also involves 94,056 suppliers, including 38,938 MSMEs,” he said.
