KSP Ensures Equitable Revitalisation for Public and Private Schools
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff retired General TNI Dudung Abdurachman has assured that the government is implementing equitable improvements to school facilities and does not differentiate between public and private schools. During a visit to inspect the revitalisation results at SMP Muhammadiyah 16 in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, Dudung stated that the government aims to renovate 71,744 educational units by 2026 with a budget of Rp14 trillion, targeting both public and private schools. “The President does not see this as a public primary school or a private one; they are all the same. There is equity, with no differentiation,” said Dudung. The visit was conducted to ensure that President Prabowo’s priority programme is running smoothly on the ground, given that funding is directly provided to schools for self-managed improvements. “The public must know that the President’s efforts in this regard are extraordinary; he thinks about it all the time. How the children can learn comfortably, peacefully, coolly, and with all their needs fulfilled,” Dudung added. The government continues to monitor through the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education to ensure that revitalisation funding is used for school facility improvements to support teaching and learning activities. He also highlighted that the School Revitalisation Programme supports job creation, noting that the renovation of SMP Muhammadiyah 16 alone involved 24 workers. With a target of revitalising 71,744 educational units this year, it is hoped that this will absorb employment in the areas around those schools. The 2026 revitalisation programme has already begun, with the government completing thousands of partnerships with educational units and starting to disburse aid totalling Rp2.6 trillion as of 6 May 2026.
