KSP Encourages Strengthening of Policy Advisory Ecosystem to Support Prabowo's Programmes

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Head of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman is pushing for the strengthening of the policy advisory ecosystem to ensure the effective implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes and deliver benefits to the public. He made the statement while delivering a keynote address at the National Strategic Forum themed ‘Building a National Policy Advisory Ecosystem to Support the Implementation of the President’s Priority Policies and National Development’ held at the National Institute of Public Administration (LAN) in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to a received statement, Dudung said the increasingly complex challenges of national development require the government to produce policies that are not only well-formulated but also capable of being implemented effectively. Therefore, strengthening the policy advisory ecosystem is crucial to bridge the gap between policy formulation and the benefits felt by the community. ‘What is most decisive is our ability to ensure that every policy is truly implemented effectively and provides real benefits to the community,’ he said. Dudung explained that successful policy implementation requires synergy among various elements, including expert staff, special staff, professional advisors, policy analysts, universities, research institutions, the business sector, and professional organisations. Through such collaboration, the government is expected to produce higher quality, data-based, and adaptive policies that answer the needs of the community. As an institution tasked with overseeing the implementation of the President’s priority programmes, the Presidential Staff Office continues to strengthen coordination across ministries, agencies, regional governments, and various stakeholders to help ensure strategic policies can be implemented effectively. On the occasion, Dudung also shared KSP’s experience in facilitating the resolution of cross-sectoral issues requiring quick decisions through inter-ministerial and inter-agency coordination. According to him, KSP exists to help resolve implementation obstacles so that not all problems must be handled directly by the President. ‘At the Presidential Staff Office, many issues between ministries, between ministries and regional governments, state-owned enterprises and ministries, as well as between the community and the government, are facilitated for resolution. KSP also has the KSP Mendekat programme, so we not only hear about problems but are also present on the ground to help resolve them,’ he said. Dudung added that flexibility in decision-making must remain within the corridor of laws and regulations so as not to hinder the implementation of the President’s priority programmes. He noted that various strategic programmes, such as Sekolah Rakyat, Sekolah Garuda, school revitalisation, the Free Nutritious Meal Programme, and the Merah Putih Village/Sub-district Cooperatives, require strong implementation oversight and support from data-based policy recommendations and cross-sector collaboration. The Presidential Chief of Staff also affirmed that the President is always open to input from various stakeholders as part of the policy-making process. ‘This input serves as material for decision-making in the interest of the nation and state,’ he said. Through this forum, KSP hopes to build a stronger national policy advisory ecosystem capable of producing implementable policy recommendations, strengthening governance, and accelerating the implementation of the President’s priority programmes towards a more advanced, competitive, and prosperous Indonesia. Dudung also expressed his appreciation to LAN and the Indonesian Association of Policy Analysts for organising the forum as a strategic space to enhance the quality of public policy-making in Indonesia. The forum was attended by Head of LAN Muhammad Taufiq, Presidential Special Assistant Dirgayuza Setiawan, Acting Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office Popy Rufaidah, as well as leaders from ministries and agencies, academics, researchers, and policy analysts.
