KSP: Electric Motorcycle Procurement for BGN Under Dadan Has Already Been Paid
The Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, has revealed details of the electric motorcycle procurement by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) carried out during the tenure of former BGN head, Dadan Hindayana. The procurement had sparked controversy before Dadan was named a suspect in an alleged corruption case. Dudung stated that the electric motorbikes for the nutritional fulfilment service units (SPPG) had already been paid for in advance. “It has been paid by the previous official,” he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Dudung added that the BGN’s electric motorcycle procurement was suspected to be more expensive than it should have been. He estimated a markup of up to Rp 200 billion in the process. He noted this figure differs from the estimate by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), which amounted to Rp 400 billion. According to Dudung, the motorcycles are currently in the assembly process. Therefore, the procurement, valued at more than Rp 1 trillion, will still go ahead. These vehicles, totalling 21,801 units, will unavoidably become BGN assets. Nevertheless, Dudung said the utilisation of the electric motorcycles would depend on the policy of Dadan’s successor as BGN Head, Nanik Sudaryati Deyang. “The decision later is up to the BGN Head, if for example there is a presidential decision to redirect them to a useful purpose,” he said. Dudung did not rule out the possibility that these motorcycles could be redirected to other parties, for instance through an instalment scheme for SPPG workers interested in purchasing them. He considered SPPG employees’ salaries sufficient to pay motorbike instalments. “The SPPG salary is quite decent, around six million, so paying instalments for one motorbike is enough,” he stated. President Prabowo Subianto had previously dismissed Dadan Hindayana from his position as head of BGN on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. A day later, Dadan was named by the Attorney General’s Office as a suspect in an alleged corruption case within the BGN on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. Dadan was dismissed along with two other BGN leaders, namely former deputy head of BGN, Retired Inspector General Sony Sanjaya, and Retired Lieutenant General Lodewyk Pusung. The Attorney General’s Office has now named all three as suspects in the alleged corruption case.
