KSP confirms Bandung Regency Integrated People's School ready to operate

Bandung (ANTARA) - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Dudung Abdurachman has confirmed that the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat 4 in Bandung Regency, West Java, is ready to operate after he personally reviewed the implementation of the School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) Wave II for 2026.

Speaking during his review of the Sekolah Rakyat MPLS in Bandung on Wednesday, Dudung Abdurachman said the school was prepared for its operational launch, with readiness approaching 100 per cent.

“We have coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works. It is almost 100 per cent ready, with only some remaining facilities and infrastructure still to follow. But it is already prepared for the operational side of education,” he said.

He also said he had conducted an inspection to ensure all aspects of the school’s operation were proceeding according to plan, ranging from facility readiness, boarding-based education services, to support from across ministries and local government.

“Teachers who are still lacking will soon be recruited. Then there may be other obstacles, such as children who still need guidance. But hopefully everything will run smoothly,” he said.

He stated that the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat in Bandung Regency will serve 560 students, comprising 56 primary school students, 229 junior secondary students, and 275 senior secondary students, resulting from the merger of eight pilot Sekolah Rakyat in the Bandung Regency area.

Meanwhile, data from the Ministry of Social Affairs recorded that the first phase of the Integrated Sekolah Rakyat MPLS had a quota of 4,305 students, with 3,642 students in attendance, or 84.5 per cent.

According to him, the programme also provides equal opportunities for children with disabilities to receive educational services, so that no group in society is left behind in accessing their right to education.

“In my view, the President’s programme is extraordinary. The principle is that no child goes unschooled and no child goes unfed. Everyone has the same opportunity,” he said.

He expressed hope that collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works, local governments, and all stakeholders can ensure the optimal operation of the Sekolah Rakyat, thereby expanding access to education for underprivileged families.
