KSP confirms Bandung Regency Integrated People's School ready to operate

Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman has confirmed that the Integrated People’s School 4 in Bandung Regency, West Java, is ready to operate after he directly inspected the implementation of the second wave of the School Environment Introduction Period in 2026. Dudung Abdurachman stated during the inspection on Wednesday that the People’s School is prepared for operational steps as readiness is approaching 100 percent. “We have coordinated with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works. It is almost 100 percent ready, with only additional facilities and infrastructure to follow. However, it is already prepared for educational operational steps,” he said. He also noted that the inspection was carried out to ensure all aspects of educational delivery proceed according to plan, from facility readiness and boarding education services to cross-ministerial and local government support. “Teachers who are still lacking will be recruited soon. Then there may be other obstacles, such as children who still need guidance. But hopefully, everything will run smoothly,” he added. The Integrated People’s School in Bandung Regency will serve 560 students, comprising 56 primary school students, 229 junior high school students, and 275 senior high school students, resulting from the merger of eight pilot People’s Schools in the Bandung Regency area. Meanwhile, Ministry of Social Affairs data recorded that the first phase of the Integrated People’s School orientation had a quota of 4,305 students, with 3,642 students attending, reaching 84.5 percent. According to him, the programme also provides equal opportunities for children with disabilities to obtain educational services, ensuring no community group is left behind in receiving their right to education. “The President’s programme, in my view, is truly extraordinary. The principle is that no child is out of school and no child goes hungry. They have the same opportunities,” he said. He expressed hope that collaboration between the Ministry of Social Affairs, the Ministry of Public Works, local governments, and all stakeholders can ensure the optimal operation of the People’s School, thereby expanding educational access for underprivileged families.
