Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Dudung Abdurahhman has called on all elements of the nation to be wiser in expressing opinions and criticism. He assured that the government always remains open to public input, including criticism.

"We are all required to be wiser in conveying opinions and criticism. The government always opens space for the public to express their opinions, including criticism," Dudung said via a video statement on Thursday (11/6/2026).

Dudung argued that criticism is the lifeblood of democracy and must be constructive. He urged the public to understand the difference between criticism and incitement.

"Because criticism is the breath of democracy that must build, not destroy. Do not equate criticism with provocation, slander, and sowing discord that can ruin our brotherhood as a nation," he stated.

Dudung reminded the nation that Indonesia was born through a long struggle full of sacrifice. He noted that the country has endured various historical trials, from rebellions to social conflicts that threatened national unity.

"This nation was not born from a smooth path. Indonesia grew from a long history, deep wounds, tears, sacrifice, and the blood of the nation’s founders," he said.

He then listed several events that tested the nation’s integrity, such as the PKI Madiun rebellion, DI/TII, RMS, the G30S/PKI, and various separatist movements. He also mentioned conflicts in Ambon, Poso, Sampit, and Aceh as part of the long journey in safeguarding national unity.

Despite these challenges, Dudung emphasised that Indonesia remains standing strong, upheld by the noble legacy of unity in diversity.

"This nation remains standing because we have a noble legacy: ‘Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, Tan Hana Dharma Mangrwa’—Unity in Diversity, there is no dual truth," he said.

Dudung further conveyed that the administration of President Prabowo Subianto is continuously working to build a stronger and fairer Indonesia. He called on all citizens to strengthen unity and work together to achieve the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.

"Let us, as the Indonesian nation, close ranks and nurture unity to achieve Indonesia Emas 2045," he urged.

Dudung expressed hope that the nation’s historical journey would serve as a foundation for collective reflection and introspection to realise a just, prosperous, sovereign, and dignified Indonesia.

"Ultimately, the course of Indonesia’s history up to this moment should be used as a milestone for reflection and introspection to realise an Indonesia that is just, prosperous, sovereign, and dignified," he concluded.
