KSP calls on public to safeguard unity towards Golden Indonesia 2045

Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) General (ret.) Dudung Abdurachman has called on the public to safeguard unity and strengthen togetherness in an effort to realise the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. “Let us, as the Indonesian nation, close ranks and nurture unity towards Golden Indonesia 2045,” Dudung said in a statement via a video recording received in Jakarta on Thursday. Dudung stated that the Indonesian nation has a long history full of struggle, sacrifice, and various tests that threatened the country’s integrity. According to him, Indonesia has been able to stand firm to this day because it possesses the noble heritage of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, which unites diversity. He noted that Indonesia has faced various rebellions, such as the PKI, DI/TII, RMS, and G30S/PKI, as well as other movements that sought to disrupt national unity. In addition, Indonesia has also experienced communal conflicts and various socio-political events in Papua and other regions that have tested national unity. Dudung stressed the importance of wisdom in expressing opinions and criticism within democratic life. The government, he said, always opens space for the public to convey aspirations and criticism as part of democracy. “The government always opens space for the public to express opinions, including criticism, because criticism is the breath of democracy, which should build, not destroy,” he said. However, he reminded that criticism should not be equated with acts of provocation, slander, or divide-and-conquer tactics that could potentially damage brotherhood and national unity. Dudung also conveyed that the administration of President Prabowo Subianto is working to build a stronger, fairer, and more dignified Indonesia. According to Dudung, Indonesia’s historical journey up to now can serve as a milestone of reflection to realise a just, prosperous, sovereign, and dignified Indonesia. “The series of Indonesian history up to the present should serve as a milestone or introspection to become a just, prosperous, sovereign, and dignified Indonesia,” he said.
