KSP: Beneficiary Feedback to Strengthen Free Nutritious Meal Programme Governance

The Presidential Chief of Staff, General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman, has confirmed that input from beneficiaries will be part of the evaluation to strengthen the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme currently being implemented. Dudung stated that the government is continuously strengthening the management of the MBG programme, which is run by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), in accordance with the directives of President Prabowo Subianto. “Input from beneficiaries is an important part of the evaluation to continuously improve the quality of the Free Nutritious Meal programme,” Dudung said in a written statement on Monday, 13 July 2026. He emphasised that the effort to strengthen governance is in line with the National Nutrition Agency’s Circular Letter Number 12 of 2026. To ensure that improvements have been implemented, his office today inspected the Ciseureuh 8 Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) and the implementation of MBG at SD Negeri 3 Ciseureuh, coinciding with the first day of school and the series of School Environment Introduction Period (MPLS) activities. The first day of school also marks the resumption of MBG distribution after a pause during the student holiday period. “The President’s directive is very clear: the programme must continue, its benefits must be increasingly felt by the community, and the quality of its implementation must also be improved. For this reason, KSP plays an active role in overseeing that all improvements are truly implemented in the field,” said Dudung. Previously, the government imposed a moratorium on the construction of new SPPGs and made operational adjustments during the school holidays as part of efforts to improve MBG governance. During that period, BGN focused on a comprehensive evaluation of SPPG operations, covering service quality, production capacity, fulfilment of facility and infrastructure standards, and the suitability of beneficiaries.
