KSP Appreciates SPPG Creativity in Malang for Developing Varied Free Nutritious Meal Menus

Malang, East Java (ANTARA) - Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) General (Ret.) Dudung Abdurachman has expressed appreciation for the creativity of the Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG) run by the Prokids Anak Indonesia Foundation in Malang City, East Java, in processing food ingredients to create varied menus for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme. During a visit to the SPPG on Friday, Dudung noted that one unique menu item was a burger whose patty was made not from beef, but from cassava. “They prepared a burger not from meat but from cassava, and in my opinion, it tastes even better,” Dudung said. He stated that creativity in presenting menus is an important part of preventing children from becoming bored with consuming MBG meals. All staff are required to wear complete personal protective equipment (APD) before beginning the serving process. Furthermore, the KSP stated that all operational activities at the SPPG, located in Sawojajar Urban Village, Kedungkandang District, are routinely monitored, including when staff shop for kitchen supplies. The implementation of a structured mechanism is believed to prevent operational irregularities. “The wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) is already very modern and meets standards,” he said. Dudung confirmed that the operational model at the Prokids Anak Indonesia Foundation SPPG will be used as a pilot project for implementation in MBG kitchens in other regions. “I will take the report from here to Jakarta to present it to the Head of the National Nutrition Agency so it can become a standard for subsequent kitchens,” he stated. Additionally, he conveyed that President Prabowo Subianto always emphasises that the MBG programme is not solely focused on feeding children, but is also a form of the state’s presence and attention to child development. “So it truly has nutritional value that will later influence brain development, so that in 20 to 30 years they become intelligent and high-quality children to achieve a Golden Indonesia,” he concluded.
