Dudung made this statement while inspecting the revitalised SMP Muhammadiyah 16 school in Central Jakarta on Tuesday (12/5/2026). Currently, he said, the budget ready for revitalising 11,000 schools is already in place.

“Going forward, in 2026, 71,000 schools will be built. And only 11,000 schools have budgets that are ready, while the rest will be allocated through ABT (additional expenditure budget). And insyaallah, hopefully, this budget comes from the President’s efficiencies, as well as from the seizures of assets from corruptors, which will ultimately benefit our schoolchildren,” Dudung told reporters after inspecting the site.

Dudung also stated that 9,000 madrasahs will be revitalised this year. He mentioned that 2,120 madrasahs were revitalised in 2025.

“And for madrasahs, in 2025, 2,120 were revitalised. And in 2026, 9,000 will be revitalised,” he explained.

Dudung expressed Prabowo’s desire for students to learn in comfortable classrooms. Prabowo also wants schools to have good toilets.

“So President Prabowo wants Indonesian children to learn in safe and comfortable classrooms. This one has air conditioning—imagine that. No more leaky schools, and the sanitation, I see the toilets are also very good,” he said.

Dudung assured that the school revitalisation will be carried out transparently. He mentioned that several related institutions will audit the construction.

“Yes, there will be checks (on fund transparency), we will conduct checks directly as well. So we will audit comprehensively, both from Muhammadiyah, from the ministries, and from BPKP,” he said.
