KSP: 50,000 Indonesian Citizens to be Deported from Malaysia

The Chief of Staff to the President (KSP), Dudung Abdurachman, attended a meeting with Commission XIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) on Wednesday, 3 June 2026. During the session, Dudung stated that approximately 50,000 Indonesian citizens (WNI) are set to be deported from Malaysia.

“It is true that around 50,000 Indonesian citizens will be deported from Malaysia,” said Dudung.

Dudung explained that the government will coordinate with Indonesian nationals currently in Malaysia to ensure all necessary documentation is completed. He added that Malaysia remains a primary destination for Indonesian labour, hosting more workers than any other country.

“I will coordinate with our citizens abroad to ensure their documentation is in order. More than 50 per cent of Indonesian workers abroad are located in Malaysia compared to other countries,” he said.

According to records, the number of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia reached 585,000 as of January 2026.
