KSOP Priok Backs JICT in Accelerating 'Green Port' Transformation

The Tanjung Priok Main Port Authority (KSOP) fully supports PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) in accelerating its operational transformation towards a green port through the electrification of port equipment. This support was demonstrated during a working visit by Head of KSOP Main Tanjung Priok Heru Susanto and JICT Director of Operations and Engineering Doni Budiono to the SANY Port Machinery Industrial Park in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, China. The visit aimed to conduct technical due diligence, factory acceptance tests, and evaluate the manufacturing readiness for the procurement of five electric Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes and ten Electric Terminal Trucks. Head of KSOP Main Tanjung Priok Heru Susanto emphasised that port sector modernisation must address the challenges of surging national logistics flows without compromising environmental sustainability. ‘We view JICT’s initiative to adopt electric-based technology as a positive step aligned with the modernisation of the national port sector,’ Heru stated. JICT Director of Operations and Engineering Doni Budiono explained that the rejuvenation and modernisation of the operational fleet is part of the company’s long-term strategy to transform into a sustainable green energy terminal. He noted that the procurement of electric cranes and trucks utilising battery swap station technology is not merely an equipment investment, but part of JICT’s operational transformation towards a more productive, efficient, and environmentally friendly terminal. SANY Group Vice President Guoyuan Zhou expressed appreciation for the visit and affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting JICT’s operational efficiency and sustainability through the provision of advanced electrification and digitalisation technology.
