Southern Lampung — The Bakauheni Port Police Sector (KSKP Bakauheni), Southern Lampung, has prepared a parking area to be used as a free vehicle custody service for those undertaking the Lebaran 2026 mudik travel.

Polsek KSKP Bakauheni Chief AKP Ferdo Elfianto, in Southern Lampung, said on Friday that the service is a demonstration of the Police’s care to provide safety and comfort for people returning to their hometown.

‘We have prepared a dedicated location in the Polsek KSKP office area for mudik travellers to deposit their vehicles. The service is free; travellers only need to show their identity card and a photocopy of the vehicle documents,’ he said.

He noted that the Polsek KSKP Bakauheni office is located at the southern end of Sumatra, the final point for mudik travellers before continuing to cross to Java.

‘This motor vehicle custody service is 100 percent free of charge and custody is not restricted to residents of Southern Lampung; people from Aceh, Riau, Jambi, and South Sumatra can also deposit their vehicles at the Bakauheni Polsek KSKP Office,’ he said.

He urged the public to report if any officer asks for a fee to deposit their vehicle during mudik, to ensure a safe and comfortable mudik for residents; for this reason the Police are committed to providing the best service to the public.

‘With this custody service, we remain committed to providing the best service and security guarantees to the public,’ he said.
