KSBSI Appreciates Police Chief, Pledges Continued Support for Indonesian National Police under President
The head of Indonesia’s Confederation of All-Indonesian Workers’ Unions (KSBSI), Elly Rosita Silaban, has expressed appreciation for National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo over the joint iftar gathering that has been organised. Elly also reaffirmed her support for the National Police (Polri) to remain under presidential authority.
“We also promise that we will continue to stand behind Polri to support Polri under the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Elly at the Tri Brata building in South Jakarta on Sunday (1 March 2027).
Elly appreciated the event because it was the first time KSBSI has held a joint iftar gathering with Polri. She hopes that the relationship can continue to be strengthened through similar activities or open dialogue.
“For us this is the first time in the history of our workers’ union and it is the first time we have been able to hold a joint iftar and provide aid to orphaned children together with the Police Chief and his staff,” she said.
Furthermore, Elly also appreciated Polri’s labour affairs desk, which helps workers resolve issues related to industry. She hopes that the labour affairs desk can be established in remote areas as well.
“We appreciate the labour affairs desk which also helps us in resolving industrial relations problems. And hopefully this can reach out to remote areas, not just at the national level,” she said.
“Hopefully in the future we will continue to meet and engage in dialogue, not just for meals but to hold discussions for the dignity of the nation,” she added.
