KRL Window Shattered After Being Hit by Stone, Incident Occurs on Duri–Tangerang Line

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – A Commuter Line window was shattered after being struck by a stone thrown by an unknown person while passing through the Duri–Tangerang line on Sunday (26/4/2026) evening.

The incident was captured on video and went viral on social media platform TikTok.

KAI Commuter’s Public Relations Manager, Leza Arlan, stated that the event occurred on Commuter Line train KA 1996A while it was travelling between Duri Station and Grogol Station around 7:17 PM WIB.

“As a result, during the journey, staff carried out guarding and cleaning of the shattered window glass fragments,” Leza said in a written statement on Monday (27/4/2026).

Nevertheless, Leza assured that there were no victims in the incident.

“The incident did not result in any victims among passengers,” he said.

However, the perpetrator has not yet been found.

“Staff did not locate the thrower, but nevertheless, staff continue to carry out socialisation and education regarding anti-vandalism to residents around the throwing location,” he explained.

Furthermore, KAI Commuter reminded that acts of vandalism against railway facilities constitute criminal offences that can incur severe penalties.

“The punishment is in accordance with the Criminal Code Article 194, which clearly stipulates the threats and penalties that can be imposed on the perpetrator, up to a maximum of 20 years if it causes loss of life,” he stated.
