The Commuter Line (KRL) train, which had stopped at the railway crossing between Kebayoran Station and Pondok Ranji Station, is now back to normal. The train resumed operations after being halted for 15 minutes due to a power outage.

“It’s running again now; it was about 15 minutes from the time it stopped until it started moving again,” said one passenger, Ira, to detikcom on Tuesday (21/4/2026).

Ira had previously reported that the train she was on suddenly stopped due to a power failure. The train halted two minutes after departing from Kebayoran Station.

“The KRL stopped and the lights went out. It was just two minutes from Kebayoran to Pondok Ranji,” said Ira.

The KRL continued moving due to the remaining momentum before the engine died. Eventually, the train came to a complete standstill at one point.

Ira said that the KRL Security Officers (PAM Walka) in the carriage noticed the air conditioning had stopped and asked a passenger sitting near the window to open it. The upper window was opened to prevent the air from becoming stuffy.

Shortly after, the lights in the carriage also went out. The atmosphere was pitch black. Occasionally, flashes from passengers’ mobile phone cameras could be seen as they photographed the current situation.

There were also sounds of passengers calling their families. Additionally, the sound of portable fans used by passengers to avoid feeling hot.

“Why is this happening, sir?” asked one passenger to the officer earlier, who replied that it was likely due to a failure in the LAA or Overhead Power Supply.

Most passengers were occupied with their phones, capturing the current situation or sharing it on social media.
