KRL Green Line Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang Hits Person, KCI Apologises

Electric Rail Train (KRL) or Commuter Line services on the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang route experienced disruption on Thursday afternoon (2/7/2026). The delay was triggered by an individual suspected of committing suicide on the tracks within the Jurang Mangu Station yard. The disruption caused train delays, leading to passenger overcrowding at a number of stations. Many KRL users questioned the cause of the obstruction on the Green Line. Through social media platform X, KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) issued an apology to passengers on the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang route. “We apologise for the inconvenience. We inform you that the journey of Commuter Line KA 1737D on the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang route experienced a train set inspection due to a person being struck at Jurangmangu Station,” wrote the verified X account @CommuterLine. Consequently, the train journey experienced a time difference from the schedule. “So the train journey is experiencing a time difference from the scheduled time. Commuter Line journeys are currently in the process of being untangled,” it continued. Additionally, the company was still carrying out an untangling process related to the change of entry and exit lines at the station. “Commuter Line journeys on the Rangkasbitung line are experiencing delays due to a change in station entry and exit lines, as a result of a person being struck at Jurangmangu Station and an inspection having been carried out at Jurangmangu Station,” KCI wrote in response to a netizen’s question. Officers have now completed the evacuation process, but the company is still working to resolve the congestion on the line, causing delays on the Green Line and passenger overcrowding. After the evacuation process, the track was declared safe and reopened. KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan stated that Commuter Line journeys resumed at 16:03 WIB. Nevertheless, the impact still caused a number of train journeys to experience delays with additional travel times ranging from 19 to 28 minutes. To minimise the impact of the delays, KAI Commuter implemented operational pattern adjustments. Commuter Line No. 1738 on the Parung Panjang-Tanah Abang route terminated its journey at Sudimara Station. The train set then continued as Commuter Line No. 1742D on the Sudimara-Parung Panjang route.
