Operational disruptions on the KRL occurred on the green line route, or the Tanah Abang-Rangkasbitung line. The disruption was caused by the Overhead Power Line network between Jurangmangu Station and Pondok Ranji Station being struck by lightning on Monday afternoon (4/5/2026). Regarding the situation, PT PLN (Persero) assured that the electricity supply provided by the company to the KRL stations and tracks is fundamentally in a safe and normal condition. “PLN assures that the electricity supply to the KRL stations and tracks at Jurangmangu and Pondok Ranji Stations is in a safe and normal condition,” said PLN UP3 Bintaro Manager Hendar Prisnadianta in his statement on Monday (4/5/2026). The company is on standby to support the acceleration of handling so that train operations can return to normal. “Following the information about the train disruption, PLN personnel have coordinated with KAI and are on standby to assist in accelerating recovery,” he said. Amid the extreme weather conditions still occurring in several areas of Jabodetabek, PLN also urged the public to remain cautious when carrying out activities during extreme weather. Previously, citing KAI’s official X account, the operational disruption occurred due to the Overhead Power Line network on the line from Jurangmangu Station to Pondok Ranji Station being struck by lightning. In response, KAI Commuter stated that the disruption is still being handled by personnel. “The operational disruption on the Overhead Power Line between Jurangmangu Station and Pondok Ranji Station due to the impact of a lightning strike is currently still in the handling process,” citing the KAI Commuter Update page statement on Monday (4/5/2026). Due to the disruption, Commuter Line journeys experienced changes in operating patterns. Trains from Rangkasbitung Station and Parung Panjang Station can only serve passengers up to Serpong Station. Meanwhile, journeys from Tanah Abang Station are limited to Kebayoran Station. KAI urged users to adjust their travel plans during the handling process. “We urge users to adjust their travel plans and follow the instructions of on-site personnel. We apologise for the inconvenience,” the KAI statement continued.
