KRL Duri-Tangerang Service Halts Suddenly, KAI Reveals Cause
TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com — The Duri-Tangerang Commuter Line service experienced an unexpected halt between Duri and Rawabuaya stations on Tuesday, 26 May 2026, at 5:05 PM WIB. KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan stated the incident was caused by a technical fault in one of the train sets with service number 1978A on the Duri-Tangerang route. The fault led to the temporary deactivation of the Overhead Line Equipment (OLE), rendering the Duri-Rawabuaya section temporarily impassable. However, repairs were carried out, and OLE was restored at 5:56 PM WIB. Following the restoration, the affected train was coupled with another service, number 1980A, to move to Track 3 at Rawabuaya Station for further inspection. ‘Operational fault handling is still ongoing,’ he said. During the repair process, several Duri-Tangerang Commuter Line services had to adjust their operations. Upbound affected services include numbers 898A, 1980A, 1982A, and 902A, while downbound services impacted are 1983A, 895A, and 899A. ‘We apologise for the operational disruption and urge passengers to follow instructions from our staff at commuter lines and stations,’ he added.
