KRL Disruption in Serpong Tuesday Morning, Train Set Immediately Withdrawn from Service

JAKARTA - The electric rail train (KRL) service on the Rangkasbitung-Tanah Abang route, or green line, experienced a disruption on Tuesday morning (12/5/2026). This issue was reported by many residents whose commutes were affected as they headed to work. VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter (KCI), Karina Amanda, stated that the KRL affected at Serpong Station was under inspection. However, when asked if the disruption was related to the train doors, Karina did not provide details. She only confirmed that it was a technical issue. Karina explained that the disrupted KRL set was a Japanese-made train that had been in use for a long time. “The train affected this morning is not an INKA KRL,” she said. Karina assured that the departure of Commuter Line train KA 1635B from Serpong Station had resumed at 08:19 WIB. Meanwhile, by around 09:02 WIB, all KRL services on the green line between Serpong and Tanah Abang had returned to normal. After the disruption, staff directed passengers continuing from Serpong Station to Tanah Abang to board the next train. According to a post on the Instagram account @jalur5, the disruption occurred on a KRL at Serpong Station. “Rangkasbitung Line KRL impacted by door disruption on KA 1635B at Serpong Station,” read the caption on the @jalur5 Instagram post. The post included a video showing passengers crowding on a platform, trying to board a packed KRL carriage.
