KRL Cikarang Gradually Returns to Normal, Bekasi Timur Station Recovers
The volume of passengers at Bekasi Timur Station is gradually returning to normal and even continuing to increase after the station resumed serving boarding and alighting passengers,” said Karina Amanda in her statement on Sunday (3/5/2026).
Karina stated that the normalisation process of the rail tracks is ongoing and showing positive progress. A trial run of the KRL journey was also conducted on Wednesday afternoon (29/4).
“Currently, Cikarang Commuter Line services have returned to normal,” she said.
Karina mentioned that at the site of the train accident, speed restrictions are still in place for all train journeys. Nevertheless, station activities and the movement of Commuter Line passengers are running normally.
Karina also reported that the passenger volume at Bekasi Timur Station reached 5,266 boarding and 2,820 alighting passengers, while on Thursday (30/4), it was recorded as 8,188 boarding and 9,268 alighting at the station. This data was obtained after the trial on Wednesday (29/4) starting from 14:00 WIB until the last schedule.
“Meanwhile, at the start of this long holiday, the passenger volume on Friday (1/5) has already reached 14,000. With 6,590 boarding and 7,527 alighting,” said Karina.
“On Saturday (2/5), the boarding passenger volume was 8,412 people and 9,275 alighting,” she added.
Karina said that starting from Thursday, the number of Cikarang Commuter Line services has returned to normal, operating 281 journeys on the Cikarang line every day. She also noted that on-time performance is continuously improving.
Karina added that journey delays are decreasing following the evacuation process. On Thursday (30/4), the average departure delay was 25 minutes, and on Friday (1/5), it reduced to 15 minutes.
Then, on Saturday (2/5), the average departure delay for Cikarang Commuter Line journeys also decreased further. The reduction was to 9-10 minutes as the rail track normalisation process continues.
“This trend shows the normalisation of public mobility relying on the Commuter Line at Bekasi Timur Station. Moreover, the Commuter Line has become a necessity for public mobility with various needs. Especially for work,” she said.
Green SM Taxi Parties to Be Questioned Tomorrow
Polda Metro Jaya has elevated the status of the train accident case involving the Argo Bromo Anggrek train and KRL at Bekasi Timur Station from investigation to prosecution. The police will seek statements from the Green SM Taxi party, Public Works Department, up to the Directorate General of Railways.
“Next, on Monday, investigators will also seek statements from the Spatial Planning Department, Public Works Department, Green Taxi party, and the Directorate General of Railways,” said the Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Budi Hermanto, to reporters on Sunday (3/5).
Kombes Budi said that the statements will be used to complete the series of prosecutions and to obtain a complete and objective picture of the incident.

Budi conveyed that 31 witnesses have been examined. Among them are the reporter, taxi driver, gatekeeper, witnesses around the location, and PT KAI operational staff.

“So far, investigators have conducted scene checks, evidence collection, in-depth CCTV footage analysis, coordination with hospitals regarding victims, visum requests. And examinations of witnesses and other related parties,” he said.
