KRL Bogor Line Chaos This Morning, Resident Dies After Being Struck

A resident was killed after being struck by a KRL train on the tracks between Cawang and Tebet stations in Jakarta on Thursday (20/8/2026), causing chaos for commuter line services. The victim, a man, died at the scene and was taken to RSCM. The incident caused damage to the train’s braking system, according to KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan. Observations at the location around 8:50 WIB showed KRL trains heading towards Bogor and in the opposite direction were able to pass. Several officers were still visible at the scene, which is close to an unofficial railway crossing. At the time of the incident, officers immediately carried out handling at the location. Meanwhile, train set KA 1183 had to undergo further inspection at Tebet Station before services could return to normal. KAI Commuter explained that the inspection process affected KRL journeys on the Bogor–Jakarta Kota line, resulting in delays to several commuter line services during the morning rush hour.
