KRISTAInterFOOD 2026 to Serve as Collaboration Platform for Food Industry and Tourism
KRISTAInterFOOD 2026 is poised to become a collaborative hub for food and beverage industry players and the tourism sector, with its staging scheduled for 4–7 November 2026 at the Nusantara International Convention Exhibition (NICE) PIK 2, Jakarta. The exhibition has received full backing from the Ministry of Tourism (Kemenpar), alongside the Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (Gapmmi), the Association of Culinary Professionals (ACP) Indonesia, the Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association (PHRI), and the Indonesian Retailers Association (Aprindo).
Acting Deputy for Industry and Investment at the Ministry of Tourism, Rizki Handayani Mustafa, stated that InterFOOD has evolved beyond a mere business exhibition into a platform that contributes to building Indonesia’s gastronomy ecosystem. “We see this exhibition not just as an exhibition or MICE event, but as a platform that shapes and strengthens the tourism ecosystem, particularly gastronomy,” Rizki said in a statement. She noted that InterFOOD facilitates multi-party collaboration involving government, academics, business players, communities, and the media. This collaboration is considered capable of connecting the entire food industry supply chain, from raw materials and technology to human resources and ready-to-consume food and beverage products.
She assessed that strengthening the gastronomy sector is a key strategy for improving the quality of Indonesian tourism. With its culinary wealth, Indonesia is seen as having significant opportunities to enhance its tourism appeal while driving economic growth. “Gastronomy is rooted in culture. Indonesia possesses extraordinary culinary diversity with hundreds of traditions and food resources spread across various regions. This potential must be continuously developed to become a world-class tourism attraction,” she said. Furthermore, Rizki stated that gastronomy development aligns with efforts to strengthen national food security. Therefore, InterFOOD is expected to be a forum that brings together farmers, processing industries, MSMEs, and the tourism sector within a single ecosystem.
“We want InterFOOD to be a platform that encourages the development of regional food resources, strengthens food security, and simultaneously creates added value for the tourism and creative economy sectors,” she said. She also opened up opportunities for collaboration between the Wonderful Indonesia Gastronomy programme and KRISTAInterFOOD to bolster the promotion of Indonesian gastronomy to international markets. Indonesia is even pushing for the establishment of an ASEAN Gastronomy Network as part of strengthening regional cooperation. According to Rizki, InterFOOD’s implementation could potentially be expanded through educational programmes such as food product export workshops, hygiene and food safety standard training, capacity building for MSMEs, and gastronomy sector investment forums. “Krista InterFOOD 2026 is expected to present more business opportunities, broader investment, and make a real contribution to the advancement of tourism and the Indonesian economy,” she said.
Chief Executive Officer of Krista Exhibitions, Daud D Salim, said the staging of KRISTAInterFOOD 2026 also marks a milestone in the journey of a food and beverage industry exhibition platform built over 27 years by Krista Exhibitions, a homegrown company that has been established for 32 years. According to Daud, KRISTAInterFOOD was built to be a forum that connects food and beverage industry players with markets, business partners, and wider collaboration opportunities. “InterFOOD is not a legacy we received from anyone. It is a platform we built from ideas, belief, and hard work over 27 years. From the start, our goal was to present a capable stage for the Indonesian food and beverage industry to grow, innovate, and connect with the world,” he said.
Chief Marketing Officer and Founder of Krista Exhibitions, Christina Sudjie, said the launch of the KRISTAInterFOOD identity is an affirmation of the trust built with industry players over more than two decades. “KRISTAInterFOOD is a reflection of our commitment to continue growing with the industry,” Christina said. KRISTAInterFOOD 2026 will feature a more modern venue with a larger capacity at NICE PIK 2. A number of agendas have been prepared, including the La Cuisine Cooking Competition 2026, projected to be attended by nearly 1,000 chefs from home and abroad in cooperation with ACP Indonesia, the Indonesia Coffee Art Battle (ICAB), a Roasting Competition with the Indonesian Coffee Council, as well as various training and competency certification programmes for industry players. The organisers hope that KRISTAInterFOOD 2026 will further strengthen collaboration among industry players, expand market access, open new business opportunities, and enhance the competitiveness of the Indonesian food and beverage industry in the global market.
