KRI Bima Suci undertakes diplomatic mission to Singapore
Jakarta (ANTARA) - KRI Bima Suci is carrying naval cadets from the Indonesian National Armed Forces Navy (TNI AL) and several friendly nations to Singapore to carry out diplomacy on Thursday.
In an official statement received in Jakarta, the visit is being conducted to continue the voyage stage of the Muhibah Diplomasi Duta Bangsa Task Force and the Practical Training of Kartika Jala Krida (KJK) 2026.
Commander of KRI Bima Suci, Lieutenant Colonel (N) Sugeng Hariyanto, who is also the Commander of the KJK 2026 Task Force, stated that the visit to Singapore is an important part of the TNI AL’s diplomatic mission.
In addition to strengthening bilateral relations between Indonesia and Singapore, the activity also serves as a direct learning platform for the cadets in understanding the dynamics of maritime cooperation and inter-country relations.
Sugeng continued that during their stay in Singapore, the KJK Task Force will carry out various diplomatic activities aimed at introducing Indonesian culture while strengthening cooperative relations between the two navies.
“Through this voyage, KRI Bima Suci is expected not only to serve as a training facility for AAL Cadets but also as a national ambassador that carries the good name of Indonesia on the international stage,” explained Sugeng.
It is known that the arrival of KRI Bima Suci was welcomed by several officials, including Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) of the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore Susilo Djati Ismojo, Assistant to the Chief of Naval Staff Rear Admiral TNI Monang Hatarongan, Indonesian Defence Attaché Colonel (N) Hendra Supriyadi, Naval Attaché Colonel (Mar) Novianto Danang Kurniawan, Army Attaché Colonel Inf M. Windra Lisrianto, Indonesian Embassy staff in Singapore Wiliyam Saroinsong, ILO IFC Lieutenant Colonel (N) Wahyu Idarta, Assistant Defence Attaché Major (N) Ardias Martanto, as well as officials from the Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN).
