BRUSSELS (Reuter): Kredietbank NV, Belgium's fourth largest
bank, said yesterday it had set up an off-shore banking unit in
the Philippines.

Kredietbank NV Manila will principally finance trade between
southeast Asia and the rest of the world and also Asian
Development Bank (ADB) projects, Kredietbank said in a statement.
The ADB is based in Manila.

Kredietbank said it recently opened a representative office in
Jakarta, Indonesia, to add to its existing Asian operations in
Hong Kong, Singapore, Taipei, Bangkok and Shanghai.
