Kramat Jati Central Market in East Jakarta is using bamboo baskets to wrap sacrificial meat in an effort to reduce plastic waste. Manager Agus Lamun explained that the use of bamboo baskets is not a first-time initiative. The measure aims to make the Distribution of sacrificial meat more environmentally friendly. Agus stated that Kramat Jati Central Market distributed approximately 6,000 packages of meat to local residents. He confirmed all coupons had been distributed to beneficiaries on Wednesday, 27 May 2026. ‘Our target is to distribute over 6,000 coupons to the community around Kramat Jati Central Market,’ Agus said. Agus added that 33 cattle were slaughtered for this year’s Eid al-Adha, an increase from last year’s 27. Meanwhile, 15 goats were also slaughtered. To prevent disturbances, 45 internal security officers were deployed, supported by police.
