Kramasan Toll Road Besieged by Forest Fires, Flames Approach Residential Areas

Forest and land fires (karhutla) have once again erupted in Ibul Besar I Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra, on Sunday (26/7/2026) evening. The blaze, which appeared near the Kramasan Toll Gate, was reported to have spread and approached residential areas. The Manggala Agni Daops Sumatera XIV-Banyuasin team, along with joint officers, are continuing firefighting efforts to prevent the flames from spreading to residents’ houses. Firefighters are concentrating their suppression efforts on hotspots closest to homes. Thick smoke was seen blanketing the fire location, and officers are continuing to extinguish and cool the land to ensure the fire does not reach residential areas and to prevent new hotspots from emerging.
