KPUD wants four members fired

MEDAN, North Sumatra: The provincial elections committee (KPUD) said on Thursday it had recommended the dismissal of four regional committee members it accused of manipulating votes during the April 5 legislative poll.

Chairman Irham Buana Nasution said the recommendations had been submitted to the central General Elections Commission (KPU) in Jakarta.

He declined to name the four members from the regencies of Langkat, Simalungun, South Nias and Medan. "Only the KPU has authority to make the names public," Irham said. --JP
