KPUD holds campaigns in 267 areas

JAKARTA: After its successful educational campaigns in malls in the capital, the Jakarta General Elections Commission (KPUD) began to hold similar events in 267 subdistrict offices on Saturday.

"Our targets are civilians, workers and professionals," said commission member Juri Ardiantoro.

Juri said the commission had already staged campaigns for around one million first-time voters of a total of 6.4 eligible voters in the capital.

More than 145 million eligible voters will flock to polling stations on April 5 to elect legislators. While the first direct presidential election will be on July 5, with a possible runoff on Sept. 20. -- Antara
